How to make Macrame Christmas Ornament

by Ihsan Eren on November 08, 2020

It is nearly that time of year! 2020 is almost over and it is everyone's hope that 2021 will be a better year for not only self, but for the whole world.

So when the Halloween is over, we are already ready to turn on the Christmas mood for ourselves.

I have been making some ornaments for our tree this year. The idea is to replace all plastic ornaments and replace by handmade macrame ones.

While I have been working on the task, I made a video for anyone out tere who is interested in maing one with Modern Macrame techniques.

If you want to get a set for yourself, here is the listing for you to order: https://buluty.com/collections/macrame-decor/products/christmas-tree-ornaments

What you need;

  • Main Square Knot: 2 x 1 meter and 2 x 20cm macrame cord (I used a 4mm 3 ply cord in the video. But the finished one on the video is made with 3mm cord. Just changes the size of the knots)
  • Tassels: 1 x 40cm yarn or string  to tie the edges together and some yarn or string to put between the edges to give the tassel some color.

Please leave a review on youtube or here on this post if you make one for yourself. And maybe tag me on instagram as @bulutyshop to show your final ornament. I would love to see them!
